Filip Wiłkomirski (Best Debut, Gdynia Festival) plays 14-year-old Dawid and Agnieszka Grochowska shines as his mother, dreaming of independence and freedom from the influence of the imprisoned father. Jolanta Dylewska’s camera emphasises the tight spaces, adding to the tension as each struggle with making sacrifices and taking opportunities.
