New Polish Cinema in 2026

Many of our selections in New Polish Cinema this year explore how groups of people interact and the potential (or missed potential) of working together. Where people connect there is the possibility of reaching understanding. Our films test this in different ways. Not all are optimistic, but many show how trying something different can be successful, at least in part.

As well as the subjects they deal with, the production styles also test different forms of collaboration across archives, companies, countries. Or simply deciding on a change of style. We hope you will take the opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and try something different during this year’s festival

This year's New Polish Cinema screenings will be screened at the following venues: BFI IMAX, Barbican Centre, Cine Lumiere, ICA, The Garden Cinema.
